The Marvelous Floating Stage of the Bregenz Festival In Austria

“The festival has become renowned for its unconventional staging of shows. Verdi’ s opera “A Masked Ball” in 1999 featured a giant book being read by a skeleton. The stage hosts elaborate opera productions that are famous for their extraordinary set designs, for audiences of up to 7000.”

Russian History re-written by Australian high school examiners

[philthy’s note: as a fan of Mech-Warrior for many years, and being from Melbourne, this story appeals on so many levels.]

The Age (Melbourne newspaper), reports on the local exam body effectively re-writing Russian history after a doctored artwork depicting a huge robot helping socialist revolutionaries during the Russian Revolution was accidentally included in this year’s year-12 history exam taken by 5700 students.

When students opened their exam this morning they found an altered version of the work with what appear to be a large “Battle-Tech Marauder” robot aiding the rising revolutionaries in the background.
